Shower floor leaking who do i call.
If your shower is on the first floor you ll need to crawl under the foundation of your home to inspect the area underneath the bathroom.
It would be pretty rare for water to leak through the tile from inside the shower under the door and out.
The most common causes are the shower pan and or a drain pipe.

If the culprit is a leaking shower arm the fix should be easy.

Be sure to fill this up from another faucet in the house.
In fact caulk can make it worse.
If you have a leaky shower drain you ll know and it s time to call a plumber.
Do your best to control the water leak turn off the water to your home and call in a plumber immediately to come out and fix your problem.
If you catch the leak early enough and clean up the mess immediately the severity of the damage should be minimal.
Look for water around the base of the shower pan.
If not wet then leak is likely through the tile or a leaking drain and i would call a plumber to track it down.
Next remove the plug or screen from the shower drain.
Any time that you feel unsure it is better to call a plumber than to let the problem persist.
After letting the water sit for at least 15 minutes if you see no evidence of a leak the problem is probably not in the shower floor.
Now using a funnel or good aim carefully pour the water down your shower drain pipe and see if any leaking occurs.
You may need to remove carpeting or look for pooling beyond the tile.
All the caulk in the world may not prevent your shower and glass door enclosure from leaking.
Of course if the leak is severe enough that you need to put a bucket on the floor to collect the water then immediately contact your local plumber.
If you use a curtain look for standing water on the floor after you shower.
Leaks around the frame may take five minutes or longer to show up.
Use a flashlight to keep an eye out for soggy wood stains and leaks.
I have done posts in the past about not caulking the connection where tile shower and or tub enclosure meets the tub or the one piece shower base.
You don t want to use the shower faucet because you want to know if the leak is coming from the faucet or the pan.
Mold spots on the wall or floor near the tub or shower.
