Had to redo this so i thought i d show yo.
Shower water goes under the adjacent floor.
Leaking drainpipes in a shower or a bathroom plug will let water underneath tile.
If so disregard the following.
If it s unchanged then keep taping un taping until it s bone dry.
The shower drain trap.
Shower water can t simply be released back into the water table so the drain has to connect to a sewer while preventing sewer gases from escaping.
On the 53 my the access to the bottom of the shower can only be created by cutting a whole in the decking of the companionway big enough to get two arms in so you can feel the drain sticking down from the shower and trace the line from the shower drain heading toward the aft sump in.
As the moisture reaches the base of the shower pan it becomes trapped.
When these all too common mistakes occur standing water gets trapped in the shower pan below the tile level.
If it gives this may be the problem.
Invest in a shower door side seal to solve the leakage issue from the sides.
Well this is a cool fix to solve this problem.
But for another to see if the water is coming from somewhere else the seam is filling up again.
Moreover the drain opening must be watertight so that water goes down the drain without seeping under the base of the shower where it can rot the floor.
Caulking along the shower pan base prevents moisture from draining back into the shower and on the back.
If you need to use the shower then just duct tape the seam to keep water out for one.
Another way to tell is to examine the drain from underneath which can be accomplished in the crawlspace or the basement.
The question is whether the water accumulates even if you don t use the shower.
Water on the floor also can lead to serious long term extensive problems such as mold or rot damage deep within.
The best way to tell if this is your problem is to push down on the floor around the drain.
If you find frameless shower door leaks at both the sides of the glass then you will have to seal the gap between the door and the adjacent glass wall.
Stepping out of a hot shower into a puddle of water puts a damper on anyone s day.
Finally actually fill fill the seam with caulk force the caulk in with your finger.
